Siamo a Roma, a Trastevere, alle pendici del Gianicolo.

La stanza era quasi vuota. Due brandine, un tavolo, tre sedie. Uno stanzone che doveva diventare un appartamento. Le proporzioni erano invitanti e consentivano di lavorare su due livelli.

Abbiamo smaterializzato i confini e trattato le superfici perimetrali con colori chiari e materiali neutrali. La scala ripartisce spazi e usi; genera piani e volumi senza creare barriere. Ogni funzione ha una sua precisa identità, delineata attraverso percorsi, altezze, luce e materiali. Tutte le armadiature sono integrate all’interno della struttura.

We’re in Rome, in Trastevere, at the foot of the Janiculum Hill.

The room was almost empty. Two cots, a table, three chairs. A large room that was to become an apartment. The proportions were inviting and allowed us to work on two levels.

We blurred the boundaries and treated the perimeter surfaces with light colors and neutral materials. The staircase divides the spaces and their uses; it creates levels and volumes without erecting barriers. Each function has its own distinct identity, defined by pathways, heights, light, and materials. All the built-in cabinetry is integrated into the structure.
